To increase the participation of disabled in the second phase of Census 2011 that would commence from February 9, 2011, the state government has decided to organise statewide rally to create awareness among the people on February 5. The rally would be taken out at tehsil-level in which the disabled people would prominently appeal to the common mass to include them during headcount so that the government could launch schemes and projects for their better life. At Raipur, the rally will start from Gandhi Udyan at 9 am and culminate at Guru Tegbahadur Udyan. In the second phase of the Census the enumerators and supervisors would go to each house and fill the detailed forms pertaining to information about the families. The form will also contain question related to disabled. The state government has appealed from the parents and guardians to provide information about the disabled member (or members) of their family without hesitation and assured that all the Census related information would be kept confidential.
