Salary discrepancy: CLVSKS takes out rally

Irked with the salary discrepancy, the Chhattisgarh Lipik Vargiya Shaskiya Karmachari Sangh (CLVSKS) took out massive rally in the capital in favour of their single-point demand for implementation of recommendations of Dr DN Tiwari committee for clerical grade employees on Monday. The sangh cautioned the state government that it would be compelled to launch aggressive agitation if its demand would be ignored.
Considering that CLVSKS was hell-bent in favour of its demand, the state administration invited it for talks after conclusion of the rally. A delegation of the sangh reached Mantralaya where it held talks with Secretary General Administration Department (GAD) Nidhi Chibbar who assured that she would convey message of CLVSKS to the Chief Secretary.
About 12000 clerical staffers from different parts of the state gathered at dharna spot near sports complex Budhapara to participate in the rally and mount pressure on the government. On the occasion, besides the state president of CLVSKS Kaushlendra Pandey, Chandrika Singh, Dhanesh Tamrakar, Sanjay Singh and BM Namdev addressed the massive crowd and slammed the government for deceiving the clerical grade employees for the past 30 years.
Thereafter, the clerical staffers led by CLVSKS state president took out a rally from dharna spot to Motibagh via electricity office, new municipal head office and Nalghar chowk.
Earlier, Pandey informed that the single-member committee chaired by Dr DN Tiwari was formed to remove salary discrepancies of clerical grade recommended by Choudhary committee.
“Dr DN Tiwari Committee has accepted that the clerical staffers were getting less salary than their peer and junior grade employees. Hence, he recommended the government to approve salary band of Rs 4000-6000 for assistant grade-3, Rs 45000-7000 for assistant grade-2, Rs 5000-8000 for assistant grade-1, auditor, accountant and assistant superintendent and Rs 6500-10500 for superintendent,” said Pandey.
“However, the government instead of following the recommendations of the Dr DN Tiwari committee, instructed Sergius Minj to reexamine the proposed salary bands, which was a ploy only to deceive the clerical grade employees. Finally, on the basis of Minj’s report, the government ignored clerical grade and benefitted all the other grades,” Pandey said.
