Cong objects over categorisation of ration cards

Raipur, April 11, 2013

Strongly objecting over categorisation of ration cards congress on Thursday said the government was rather snatching fundamental right of the people by depriving them from such cards.

“The Congress condemns the directive of food and civil supplies department according to which ration cards will not be issued to those families that come under categories - income tax payee, owner of four hectare irrigation land or eight hectare non-agricultural land, daily wagers, class IV employees, staff receiving honorariums and permanent and contract employees of state and central governments,” said PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda.

“People do not just use ration card in obtaining foodgrains from fair price shops but they also use it as a certificate in several works,” he added.
