Factory mishap: INTUC for quick compensation


Raipur, October 25, 2012

INTUC has asked Urla-based Pragati Ingot and Power to instantly announce compensation for the families of labourers some of whom died and rest got severely injured in the mishap in the factory recently.

“The factory management should give Rs 25 lakh each to the families of deceased labourers and Rs 20 lakh each to families of injured ones,” demanded state INTUC president Rajjan Akil Khan and secretary Prabhat Kaushik on Thursday.

Holding the factory management responsible for the incident, the duo said if the compensation package would not be released quickly the INTUC would launch aggressive agitation against it.

“We will submit a memorandum to Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar and Labour Commissioner in next coming days,” they said.
