With less than two months remaining for assembly elections, state Congress president Charandas Mahant on Wednesday delegated fresh assignments to PCC office-bearers.
While Mahant himself kept charges of administration, organisation, OBC youth cell, jhuggi-jhopdi cell and viklang seva cell, he gave important responsibility to late Vidya Charan Shukla’s daughter and party vice president Pratibha Pandey, i.e. charge of Mahila Congress (PMC) which is presently headed by party MLA Ambika Markam. The objective is to intensify poll-oriented activities in state.
Another party vice president Rajendra Tiwari has been entrusted the charge of communication department which will play vital role in the hustings.
The most interesting profile has been given to PCC programme coordinator and PCC vice president Bhupesh Baghel – the charge of party’s frontal organisations Youth Congress and NSUI. Notably, both the organisations are dominated by senior party MLA Ajit Jogi’s supporters. The charge of vyapar cell has been given to PCC treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal.
The other PCC vice presidents who would be in charge of cells and departments are – Pushpa Devi Singh – science and environment cell, TS Singhdeo – Seva Dal, Baijnath Chandrakar – Raigarh Lok Sabha and cooperative, Kawasi Lakhma – non-institutional grievance redressal cell, Pradeep Choubey – kisan khet majdoor Congress cell, Krishna Kumar Gupta – Sarguja Lok Sabha, Haridas Bhardwaj – SC department, Gurmukh Singh Hora – Kanker Lok Sabha, Iqbal Ahmed Rizvi – legal cell, Dr Renu Jogi – doctors’ cell and sports cell, Ganga Thakur Potai – ST department, Tarun Chatterjee – culture & folk art cell and civic bodies cell, and Shankar Lal Tamrakar – OBC cell.
Similarly, the additional roles and responsibilities of party general secretaries as incharge will be – Subhash Sharma – Durg Lok Sabha, PCC administration and office management, Devvrat Singh – Raipur Lok Sabha, Shiv Kumar Daharia – Bilaspur Lok Sabha, Arun Vora – Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha, Fulodevi Netam – Bastar Lok Sabha, Vidhan Mishra – Mahasamund Lok Sabha, Chandrabhan Barmate – panchayati raj cell and migration & bonded labour grievance redressal cell, Subhash Dhuppad – Korba Lok Sabha, Lekhram Sahu – attached to PCC, Dr Shobha Ram Banjare – ex-servicemen cell, Abdul Hameed Hayat – minority cell and public grievance redressal cell, Dr Ramlal Bhardwal – Janjgir Lok Sabha, Sanjay Pathak – attached to PCC and protocol and Ramesh Warlyani, Umesh Patel, Deepak Karma, Jeetendra Mudliyar, Jhitruram Baghel, Rajkumari Diwan, Dr Premsai Singh, Padma Manhar – all attached to PCC.
