NSUI gheraoes PSC

Raipur, September 02, 2013

The NSUI on Monday gheraoed office of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) with fishing nets to express its objection over difference in eligibility criteria in commission’s job advertisement for posts of assistant director in agriculture and fisheries departments.

“Since the posts are same in both departments, the required qualification norm is same, i.e. M Sc in relevant discipline with second division. At this juncture, the commission wants applicants of fisheries department to have five-year experience of government service which is unjust for them,” said former state NSUI president Sanjeev Shukla.

Pointing that 90% of appointments in fisheries department is being done through promotions and only 10% vacant posts are filled through direct appointment, Shukla said the commission should not deprive fresher students from their rights to apply for such posts.

He alleged that the commission rather want to fill the vacant posts by promoting existing assistant fishery officers by asking them to submit their experience certificate as a government servant.

He said the commission should stop doing injustice to fresher students and must maintain transparency in its stipulations.
