Congress
on Thursday said the government’s mahila utthan yatra (MUY) was insignificant
as the latter had failed to provide security to womenfolk.
“The MUY will be meaningless unless the government publicly
tenders apology on uterus removal case,” said PCC spokesperson Mahendra
Chhabda.
“It is an irony that the government which is
responsible for women’s miseries poses to uplift them through MUY,” he said.
“The government deserves the blame of uterus removal
case as it neither take action against any guilty doctor nor take initiative to
help the victim women,” he said.
“Over 10000 girls are missing from different parts of the
state, there has been marked rise in cases like dowry, rape and women exploitation
in past nine years but the government remains indifferent toward women’s
security,” he pointed.
“The government must assure the womenfolk of no
iteration of crime against them. Besides, liquor sale in rural pockets should
be banned effectively as alcohol is destroying several families,” he said.
