Chhattisgarh polls: Priya Dutt concerned over rise in women abuses cases

Raipur/Tilda/Silyari, November 13
Congress MP Priya Dutt has lashed at BJP government and said it had failed to check rising women abuse cases in Chhattisgarh. “The women harassment cases in the State are much more than Delhi and Mumbai. Such incidents may have grabbed limelight and become national issues if they had occurred in metropolitan cities,” she said while addressing rallies in Tilda and Silyari near Raipur.
“There is sense of insecurity in Chhattisgarh. The common people, especially women are not secure under BJP government,” she said.
Pointing towards human trafficking cases in tribal belts including Jashpur and Raigarh she said thousands of females were missing in State but the government seemed least bothered about it.
She also expressed her concern over malnourishment cases and said the government was apathetic towards health of Children.
On BJP’s developmental claims she said development was only visible in urban areas under its regime.”There is no development in rural pockets. People are still devoid of basic facilities like road, water, electricity, health and education,” she pointed.
She said the party was confident of winning polls this time in State. “We are forming government this time. There is wave of change in the State in favour of Congress,’ she added.
