Now state to provide 100% fund for MMGSY

Sarpanch sadan to be constructed at the rate of Rs 10 lakh in every block

House passes demand for budgetary grants of Rs 4066.25 cr for panchayat & rural development and law and legal affairs departments

The government will establish 18 fast track courts (FTCs) in next 2-3 months. In this connection, it has already obtained approval from the High Court. The information was provided by minister for panchayat & rural development and law and legal affairs departments Hemchand Yadav while he was speaking during debate over demand for budgetary grants of Rs 4066.25 crore for his departments at state assembly on Thursday. The House passed demand for grants for these departments through voice vote.

Admitting that several road works under Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna 
(MMGSY) got delayed, Yadav said the state government had decided to provide 100% fund for Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna (MMGSY). “Earlier, the state was giving 90% fund while Centre’s share was 10%,” he added.

“The MMGSY started in April 23, 2011. The aim to launch this scheme was to include those roads works which could not be selected under PMGSY works for not matching the given norms,” he said.

He said the government had also launched an ambitious scheme – Mukhyamantri Gramin Gauravpath Yojna (MMGGY) and aimed to develop beautify roads under the scheme in 1000 villages. “Already works have started in 825 villages,” he informed.

“We have also constituted Chhattisgarh Rural Regional Development Authority (CGRRDA) to develop those areas that do no come under Sarguja and Bastar development authorities. The government has made a provision of Rs 50 crore for CGRRDA and approved 246 works under it,” he said.

On PMGSY he informed the House that the Centre had provided 1300 crore in two instalments to the state.

He said the government has decided to construct sarpanch sadan in every block at the rate of Rs 10 lakh. Similarly, Rs one crore will be spent in every block under government’s janpad empowerment plan.
