The second meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha’s (BJPKM) national executive and Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Vichar Shivir will be held at Pujari Park at Dhamtari road in Raipur on February 26 and 27.
The BJPKM’s national General secretary Naresh Sirohi informed that besides members of national executive, office-bearers of all the states and district president and general secretaries would be attending the two-day shivir.
The morcha’s state incharges have also been invited to attend the shivir, he said. The meeting will start with registration for which all the delegates have been informed to reach the shivir venue by 1 pm on February 26, he said.
The shivir will conclude on February 27 followed by a conference of Chhattisgarh farmers organised by the morcha. Sirohi has urged all the invited delegates to attend the conference after morcha’s national executive meeting.
In the meeting, the members will prominently discuss on pathetic conditions of farmers across the country and initiatives taken by the Centre to bring relief for them. The members will further prepare a list of demands to mount pressure on the Union government to improve the agriculture sector by inducting reformatory measures and to launch different schemes for the farmers.
The morcha’s vision document – ‘kisan aur Krishi in Bharat’ will be another significant subject on which members will give their opinion.
In the meeting, a comprehensive report will be presented on the conditions responsible for suicide by more than 300 farmers of Andhra Pradesh.
“It is very unfortunate that the state government and the Union government failed to prevent it. Our national leaders will provide guidance in this convention,” said Sirohi.
This shivir will be chaired by the morcha’s national president Om Prakash Dhankad.
Expedite road widening works: Mandal to RMC

Secretary Urban Administration RP Mandal has directed the civic administration to expedite the road widening project from electricity office chowk to Budhapara sulabh toilet. Mandal issued directives while conducted spot inspection of the project to see its progress on Friday.
He said the officials should ensure that the project should get completed within given timeframe according to quality norms so that the road traffic may not remain obstructed for long time.
The zone 7 commissioner Rajesh P Naidu informed Mandal that the traffic pressure on Budhapara road towards new RMC office, Kalibadi chowk and Malviya road had increased in the past couple of years and the road from electricity office chowk to Budhapara sulabh toilet being only 40 feet wide frequently witness traffic bottlenecks due to large number of vehicle movement throughout the day. He said after completion of the project, the commuters would get 60 feet wide road.
The RMC has already removed the electricity office at the corner of the road intersection as well as the temple near Madhav Rao Sapre School under the road widening project.
The municipal’s demolition squad has also removed its offset printing machine room and the boundary wall of 100-year-old Sapre School.
Likewise, the buildings of veterinary hospital, Karmachari Bhawan Aanganbadi centre and Bharat Scouts and Guides office would be shifted several feet away from the main road.
Recently, the RMC has removed over 200 illegal banners and posters that were pitched indiscriminately along the road on trees and electric poles from electricity office chowk to Budhapara sulabh toilet.
Intensify anti-larva campaign: Mayor

Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak has asked the civic officials to intensify anti-larva campaign in the city by conducting fogging through vehicle mounted machine on daily basis. She urged the people to maintain hygienic conditions in their ambience by not throwing garbage on roads and drains. “We aim to make the city clean, green and free from mosquitoes for which we need public support,” Nayak said.
In this connection, the civic administration prepared a new route chart on Friday to conduct fogging from 5:30 pm onwards on daily basis.
According to the route chart, on Mondays, the fogging through vehicle mounted machine would be conducted at Jaistambh chowk, Malviya road, Kotwali chowk, Fire Brigade chowk, Kali Mandir chowk near All India Radio office, the roads near CM house, from Circuit House to Rajbhawan and nearby areas, Katora Talab road, from Ashoka Millennium (Ring Road No 1) to Shailendra Nagar, Vivekanand Nagar, Pension Bada, Bairon Bazar and Kalibadi chowk.
On Tuesdays, the fogging would be done at Jaistambh chowk, Tatya Para chowk, Ayurvedic College, Samta colony, Choubey colony, Agrasen chowk, Amapara, Lakhe Nagar and Sundar Nagar.
On Wednesdays, the places which have been selected for fogging are GE road near Anupam garden, Dagania road, Rohinipuram, Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar, Kukurbeda, Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (RSU), Amanaka, Mahoba Bazar, Hirapur, Kabeer Nagar, Tatibandh and Udya Society.
On Thursdays, the anti-larva campaign would continue from Kalibadi to Siddhartha chowk, Tikarapara, Santoshi Nagar, Lalpur, Pachpedi Naka, Priyadarshini Nagar, Bajaj colony, New Rajendra Nagar, Mahavir Nagar and Amlidih.
On Fridays, the fogging would be done from Tatya Para chowk to Ramsagar Para, Telghani Naka area, Gudhiyari underbridge area, Station chowk, Fafadih, Raman Mandir area, Jagriti Nagar, Prem Nagar, Indira Nagar, the area near Hotel Paradise, Shivanand Nagar, Shrinagar, the basti near Bhanpuri school and Gondwara basti.
On Saturdays, the locations selected for fogging are from Kotwali chowk to Satti Bazar, Kankali Para, Lakhe Nagar, Purani Basti, Khokho Para, Bandhwa Para, Kushalpur, Thakur Anirudhdh Chowk, Ashwini Nagar, Turi Hatri, Lili chowk, Mahamaya Mandir area, Bhathagaon, area near RMC zone 6 office, Dabrapara and Sahupara.

The RMC has made special arrangement to provide registered marriage certificates to the couples who have entered into wedlock at its choice centre in RDA building at Sharda Chowk. The municipal has provided certificates to 829 married couples by far informed the civic officials.
Chatrapati Shivaji’s birth anniversary today

The municipal corporation will organise a tribute programme to observe the birth anniversary of Chatrapati Shivaji’s before his statue at the Tatya Para chowk at 10 am on Saturday. Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak has urged the RMC Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava, leader of BJP corporators Subhash Tiwari, Mayor-in-Council (MiC) members, corporators and citizens to attend the tribute programme at large number.
