The municipal’s alderman Pareshwar Bagh from BJP has demanded from district administration to close down the liquor shop at Mahoba Bazar (Shaheed Manmohan Singh Bakshi ward). “The liquor shop at Mahoba Bazar is causing inconvenience to the local residents as the boozers and anti-social elements assemble there everyday,” he said after submitting a memorandum pertaining to closure of the liquor shop to Collector Dr Rohit Yadav and Assistant Commissioner Excise department on Friday.
“The liquor shop is located besides one mall in Mahoba Bazar and is surrounded by residential areas. Besides, there is a municipal school in about hundred meters away from it. People frequently adopt the road in front of the liquor shop and many even become victim of the obscene comments made by boozers and anti-social elements,” Bagh said.
He demanded from the Collector to immediately issue orders to close the liquor shop and not to allot any such shop during the fresh liquor contract in April 2011.
