Raipur, February 19, 2011
In what could brew fresh troubles for the already battered Congress party, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has announced to launch a nationwide movement against corruption by calling upon the youths to unite and fight against the Congress-led UPA rule. The morcha’s state and district presidents have exhorted the organisation’s members to take the fight against corruption to the streets. They said it was high time to wage a war against corruption.
They also slammed the Congress-led UPA government for its failure to address aspirations of youth who are not only facing problems of unemployment but also have to struggle hard for subsistence due to rising prices of essential commodities with increasing inflation. They informed that the political resolution of BJYM was adopted at the morcha’s national executive meeting on February 18, 2011.
In the meeting, the BJYM’s national president and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur said the cases of corruption, loot and pilferage of public money had been on the rise but the UPA government kept snoring. CWG loot, Adarsh society scam, 2G spectrum scam and S-Band sale scam have shaken the faith of people, he added. It is ironical, Thakur said, that amid all the chaos the Prime Minister maintains a stoic silence even as his ministers indulge in defending the culprits. “The situation is grim and we need to act fast,” he further said outlining his party’s pan-India mobilisation strategy.
“The situation of Kashmir is a challenge for nationalist youth of the country. While the separatists backed by Pakistan are openly indulging themselves in anti-India activities, the National Conference government in the state and Congress led UPA government at the Centre are seen hand in glove in acceding to their demands. Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has questioned the accession of the state to the rest of the India. The interlocutors appointed by the Congress led UPA government are speaking the language of the separatists and appear to be pursuing some dubious agenda. When JKLF separatist leader Yasin Malik openly issued threats to BJYM Rashtriya Ekta Yatra, CM Omar Abdullah wanted the Yatra to stop. An agenda as part of a political conspiracy is being pursued surreptitiously in J&K posing dangers for the unity and integrity of the country,” Thakur added.
“We stand amidst wreckage of chaos and corruption. Governance is hugely deficient while common people sense growing unease everyday with blatant disregard by the government to their aspirations. We are worried and as a responsible political party deem it fit to connect people, and especially the youth, in launching a relentless campaign,” said the state morcha members asking people to come forward in joining BJYM’s mission.
They informed that the national executive political resolution cornered the government over its ambivalence on Kashmir issue.
Justifying the recently concluded Rashtriya Ekta Yatra, the BJYM resolution concluded that the yatra created a new nationalistic fervour in the country inspiring the youth to come out in defense of unity and integrity of the country and generated a debate on Kashmir.
“While the yatra received massive support from the people, the government both at Centre and J&K responded negatively threatening the use of force and coercion. It was very distressing to see the Prime Minister opposing the yatra yielding to the demands of separatists like Yasin Malik,” the morcha members said.
“The Union Home Minister P Chidambaram too was seen dancing to the tunes of separatists. The J&K CM Omar Abdullah who was hell bent on stopping the yatra right from the day-one used his coercive powers most brazenly. In a most undemocratic manner, the Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma were detained at the Srinagar airport and forcibly moved out of the J&K borders that showed scant regards for the constitutional office these people hold,” they said.
The resolution also expressed concern over the distressing state of Indian economy in the backdrop of continuous suicidal cases of farmers across the country, skyrocketing prices of day-to-day use items and limited employment opportunities, they said.
“Instead of addressing the compelling concerns the government is trying to defend the corrupt. Hence, the BJYM resolves to conduct a nationwide campaign to create massive awareness among the youth and to prepare the youth for the battle ahead,” they added.

BJYM deplores Cong MP’s remarks
Raipur, February 19, 2011
The Bharatiya Janata Yuwa Morcha (BJYM) has condemned the remarks by Congress MP Ninong Ering from Arunachal Pradesh as defamatory and has said that people with such mindsets do not have any right to remain member of the Parliament. The sharp reaction in response to corruption cases by the Congress MP, said the morcha’s state office-bearers, reflects the nervousness of the party. Calling his ideas as symptomatic of the Congress mindset they said that such mentality only fuels the ideas of separatist forces in the country.
Taking umbrage to the Congress MP's comments against Indians, the morcha demanded that the Congress party takes grim view of this and initiates urgent disciplinary proceedings against him.
Reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to defeat the designs of separatist forces, the morcha members said the BJYM took out Rashtriya Ekta Yatra from Kolkata to Jammu and Kashmir to hoist tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar with an objective to expose anti-national elements like Ering.
“It is unfortunate however that the Congress party which patronises people like Ering scuttled our attempts to hoist the national flag at the Lal Chowk in Srinagar. It is no surprise that the Congress party is giving shelter to the likes of Ering which are blatantly anti-national and aggressively pursue an agenda to divide and challenge the integrity of our country,” they added.
They said their party was committed to shatter the divisive tactics of separatist elements. Pointing to rising cases of corruption and threats by anti-national elements they said that BJYM was gearing up to take the fight against UPA government to the streets by calling upon youth of the country to unite in the mission.
