The Water Resources Department (WRD) has completed construction of two anicuts worth Rs 6.38 crore on river Shivnath near Bhatapara. The WRD officials informed that Rs 3.63 crore was spent Kumharkhan anicut project and Rs 2.75 crore on Kodwa (Koni) anicut project. The water from the two anicuts is being used by the farmers for lift irrigation as well as for daily use by the locals, informed officials. The construction of anicuts had also raised the groundwater table in their surrounding areas, they added.
