Takes out massive rally from Naveen Market to municipal head office
Raipur, February 04, 2011
The Shiv Sena has alleged that the people of Raipur were suffering due to petty party politics by Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak, Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava and corporators against each other at RMC.
“It is shame that the elected representatives have put aside the issues of their wards and are engrossed in allegations and counter-allegations against each other to take political mileage. If this trend would continue to hinder the state capital’s development then we would launch aggressive movement and gherao the municipal office as well as public representatives,” warned Shiv Sena’s Madhukar Pandey, Shibu Shukla and Sunil Kukreja.
To protest the municipal inaction, the Shiv Sena took out a massive rally from Naveen Market to RMC head office at Malviya road and submitted a memorandum to Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary seeking quick Commencement of development works in the city.
The Shiv Sena workers said the city lack basic facilities but no initiative had been taken by the municipal authorities by far. “The drains and nullahs are choking, the roads are damaged and filth and garbage are scattered everywhere in public places, however the responsible authorities have closed their eyes from these problems,” they added.
