The road from electricity office chowk to Budhapara sulabh toilet will be sixty feet wide. The information was given by civic Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary while he inspected the area along with other officials on Wednesday.
“The traffic pressure on Budhapara road towards new RMC office, Kalibadi chowk and Malviya road had increased in the past couple of years. Presently, the road from electricity office chowk to Budhapara sulabh toilet is 40 feet wide which is not sufficient as traffic bottlenecks frequently occur in the area, due to large number of vehicle movement throughout the day,” said Choudhary.
The RMC has already removed the electricity office at the corner of the road intersection as well as the temple near Madhav Rao Sapre School under its road widening plan. The electricity office would now be shifted some 20 feet behind its existing location. Similarly, the temple would also be shifted elsewhere.
Choudhary said the vehicular movement would double in the area after the municipal works would commence from new civic headquarters.
Under the road widening project, the municipal has also commenced construction of new boundary wall of the Sapre School some 20 away from its existing location.
Similarly, the buildings of veterinary hospital, Karmachari Bhawan Aanganbadi centre, municipal’s offset printing machine room and Bharat Scouts and Guides office would be shifted several feet away from the main road, informed the officials.
