Cong violated model code of conduct: BJP

Raipur, February 09, 2011

The state president of BJP’s Investors Cell Naresh Chandra Gupta has complained to the State Election Commission that Congress had violated model code of conduct during its election campaign at Sanjari-Balod legislative Assembly constituency where by-poll would be held on February 14.Gupta informed the commission that the AICC treasurer Motilal Vora, Union Minister of State for Culture, Planning and Parliamentary Affairs and Chhattisgarh Congress incharge V Narayanasamy and leader of Congress legislators party Ravindra Choubey had violated code by using more than 50 vehicles in their cavalcade on Wednesday. “The Congress leaders took public meetings in Pendrapani, Gurur, Naragaon, Karhibadar and Balod on Wednesday and used their large cavalcade. However, the local election officials did not take any action in spite of our prompt complaint to them in this connection,” said Gupta.
