The Fafadih Residents’ Association (FRA) has alleged that encroachers around Timber road which is proposed to be developed into a 20 meter-bypass road are pressuring the municipal authorities to reduce the actual width of the planned project. “Since the bypass road would ease traffic pressure on other roads in Fafadih, the RMC should not curtail the road width,” the FRA urged.
The association members informed that some people had illegally occupied the lands besides the proposed bypass road in spite of space left by the local voluntarily for road widening works several years back.
“These encroachers now want that the municipal should amend its road widening project and reduced the road width by five meters which would not be tolerated,” they said.
The bypass road would be constructed from Raipur-Bilaspur road at Fafadih besides State Bank of India to Krishi Upaj Mandi gate at Pandri. “This road would benefit the residents of Fafadih, Devendra Nagar, Paras Nagar, colonies around Mandi, Mova and Shankar Nagar,” they said.
