Congress
on Wednesday claimed that the BJP’s dharna against Centre in all district
headquarters of state was complete failure.
“The thin crowd in
BJP dharna programmes in all districts confirms that the people no more believe
in it and have bluntly rejected its issues,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil
Anand Shukla.
“The BJP is
well-aware that foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail will give major
relief to the people, hence it is doing its negative publicity,” he said.
He alleged that the
state BJP staged dharna to divert public attention from government’s failure
and corruption prevailed in system.
“The government
simply squandered state’s rich mineral resources in past nine years. It hiked
power tariff, property, water and integrated taxes. The BJP dharna programme
was mere deception,” he said.
