Congress
on Thursday condemned BJPians for thrashing physiotherapy students while the
latter were staging dharna with their demand for counselling.
“In democracy, it
is unconstitutional to suppress anyone’s voice. The physiotherapy students were
demonstrating peacefully at dharna spot when the BJP workers reached there and
not only misbehaved with them but also started beating them. The BJPians did it
to gratify their leaders,” said Congress spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda.
He said the police
too did not reach at dharna spot timely despite receiving information about
misconduct of BJPians.
He demanded that
the BJPians should tender their apology to physiotherapy students for their wrongdoing.
