Mohit Dhruv becomes DCC Mahasamund prez

Ajay Singh gets reins of DCC Bijapur

Stalemate between Patel, Vora over Raipur Urban unit head post

Raipur, November 16, 2012

State Congress on Monday appointed Mohit Dhruv as district Congress committee (DCC) Mahasamund president. The party has also decided to give the reins of DCC Bijapur to Ajay Singh who was by far looking after the district unit as working president after death of then incumbent DCC president Gulab Khatri.

However, the party leadership could not evolve consensus over the coveted post of DCC Raipur Urban president as there is stalemate between PCC president Nandkumar Patel and AICC treasurer Motilal Vora.

While Patel wants to give the baton of DCC Raipur Urban to former NSUI president and current Youth Congress national general secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Vora camp has projected Sanjay Pathak as its candidate.

The capital city being the focal point of party politics, not only Patel and Vora, but many other bigwigs in the state unit tried to justify the candidature of their favourites for the president post of DCC Raipur.

However, with Patel and Vora making their mindset for Upadhyay and Pathak respectively, the candidates of other senior leaders were destined to left behind in the rat race, said party insiders.

Considering ‘interests’ of Patel and Vora, the state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada has reportedly asked the duo to evolve consensus over one name for the DCC Raipur Urban.
