The Congress is gradually roping in its bigwig leaders in Bastar poll campaign. To woo the tribal voters, the party has invited Union Minister for Tribal Affairs and president of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Kantilal Bhuria who would reach Bastar on May 4, 2011. Besides, few more Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh are likely to campaign for the party in Bastar in next coming days.
According to information, Bhuria will address public meetings along with the incharge general secretary of Chhattisgarh Congress BK Hariprasada, incharge secretary V Hanumantha Rao, AICC treasurer Motilal Vora and Rajya Sabha member Mohsina Kidwai, PCC president Nand Kumar Patel and leader of the Congress Legislators’ Party (CLP) Ravindra Choubey in different parts of Bastar Lok Sabha constituency.
The AICC secretary and incharge of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Tarachand Bhagora, who arrived in state capital on Friday, has got responsibility to monitor four Vidhan Sabha areas of Bastar – Jagdalpur, Kanker, Kondagaon and Narayanpur. He will first reach Kanker and address a public meeting at Makdi.
The PCC incharge secretary V Hanumantha Rao will monitor the remaining four Assembly areas of Bastar Lok Sabha constituency – Dantewada, Bijapur, Konta and Chitrakot.
Hariprasada, who is said to have chalked out strategy for Bastar by-election, has sternly asked all the senior leaders of the state to remain in the areas assigned to them till the end of the campaign.
