The PCC has hailed the victory of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in three of the four states where Assembly elections were held recently and the results were declared on Friday.
The PCC president Nandkumar Patel, leader of Congress Legislators’ Party (CLP) Ravindra Choubey, Parliamentarian Dr Charandas Mahant, spokesperson Ramesh Varlyani and other Congress leaders jointly congratulated the party leadership and the alliance partners for the phenomenal success in West Bengal, Assam and Kerala.
“By giving mandate to the Congress and its allies in these three states, the people apparently indicated that they endorse the policies of the UPA government at the centre,” they said.
Congratulating party’s national president Sonia Gandhi, they said, “People have really appreciated the decisions taken by the UPA government on different issues and it has been reflected in the elections results.”
