FLIP SIDE

Introspection? Forget it…

Whenever Congress loses any election, the senior leaders say they will introspect, but when would they do it, they never disclose. This has become the habit of the party ever since it lost the Assembly elections in 2004. But the party workers give different reason for PCC’s reluctance for introspection. They say if the PCC would seriously introspect Congress’ performance during those elections it lost, then there are fair chances of expulsion of many senior leaders. Some leaders would even join other parties or launch their own, the workers chuckle. Therefore, let these leaders remain in the party and do what they want, they said.

Magnanimous Congmen

After losing Bastar by-poll, it was expected that the Congress Bhawan would wear a deserted look, but instead the senior leaders did not switch off their cell phones this time. Rather, they talked volumes about the party, of course not about state unit but their party supremo that how she steered the Congress so diligently that it succeeded in posting victory in three states with the help of their allies. After all, why regret for Bastar result when the party had grand victory in three states?

 X-factor turns into ex-factor

One senior Congress leader is jobless now. Just recently, he was holding significant post in the party, but after major reshuffle done by the national leadership in the state unit, he found himself sidelined. He is unable to decide about his own future actions. He remembers the time when the partymen would attempt to hobnob with him and he enjoyed the limelight. Now, he reluctantly joins the party movements launched by the district units merely to show the high command that he desperately wants new assignment at state level. Alas, the person who had ‘X-factor’ till recently will now have to endure the pricking ‘ex-factor’.
