Patel, Choubey to submit party’s poll performance report to Hariprasada

Raipur, May 10, 2011

The PCC president Nandkumar Patel and leader of Congress Legislators Party (CLP) Ravindra Choubey will leave for New Delhi on Wednesday and submit party’s Bastar by-poll performance report to the incharge general secretary of Chhattisgarh BK Hariprasada. The duo will also meet other senior party leaders at New Delhi and seek their guidance regarding PCC’s future actions.
After showing united strength in Bastar, the PCC is concentrating on its mission 2013 when Assembly elections would be held in the state. In this connection, Patel and Choubey held talks with some of the senior party leaders separately on Tuesday.
According to information, Patel wants to consolidate party at gram panchayat level. He feels that the Congress can regain power in the state if it would expand its domain in the rural belts. Hence, he wants to replace several faces from the working committee with the new ones. He is especially upset with the performances of several DCC presidents and has indicated that majority of them would not be repeated this time.
He is also planning to assign specific job profiles to some of the legislators in the organisation. Sources informed that the Paresh Bagbahra, Ambika Markam, Agni Chandrakar, Shiv Kumar Dharia and Tamradhwaj Sahu are some of the MLAs who are likely to be given opportunity to balance the caste factor and satisfy different camps.
