Jogi did not distribute cash for vote in Bastar: CRPVVYS

After Election Commission of India reprimanded former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi for his alleged involvement in cash for vote episode during Bastar by-election, the Chhattisgarh Rajya Pichda Varg Vikas Yuwa Sangathan (CRPVVYS) on Tuesday defended him and said he did not distribute cash to the voters during poll campaign.
The state president of CRPVVYS Bhagwanu Nayak said Jogi was merely offering pooja thali and money to the locals so that they could prey in the temple on his behalf as he was not fit physically.
Nayak further slammed Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ramvichar Netam for sullying Jogi’s reputation. He said the complaint lodged by Netam against Jogi to the EC was baseless.


RMC staffers on mass leave today
Demand from government to provide benefit of 6th pay scale

The officials and employees of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) will be on mass leave on Thursday with their demand from the government to provide benefit of 6th pay scale to them. These staffers were on pen down strike on Wednesday in favour of their demands owing to which the works RMC head office at Malviya Road and all the zone offices remained affected the entire day.
“The government has deceived us by not keeping its promise to provide us the benefit of 6th pay scale. Now, we do not have any other option than to go on agitate in favour of our demands,” said the convenor of Nagar Nigam Karmachari Sangharsh Samiti (NKSS) Hargovind Joshi on Tuesday.
He informed that the after the first phase of their protest against the government on Wednesday, all the officials and employees would mount pressure on the government by remaining on mass leave on Thursday. “We will continue our agitation till our demand gets fulfilled,” he said.
The RMC staffers will also participate in mahadharna of the officials and employees of all the civic bodies of the state under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Swayattshashi Karmachari Sangh (CSKS) on Thursday. For this, agitators would first accumulate in front of Karmachari Bhawan and then reach dharna spot near Sports Complex Budhapara in the form of a rally.
