Raipur, April 21, 2011

The state Congress incharge general secretary BK Hariprasada will arrive in the state capital on April 24 and would spent two days in Bastar. This will be his maiden visit in the state but he would be busy in Bastar Lok Sabha by-election. According to information, Hariprasada will reach Raipur on April 24 evening and proceed to Bastar on the following day. He will hold meeting of the senior leaders in Bastar and would frame strategy for poll campaigning. The PCC president Nandkumar Patel and Leader of Congress Legislators Party (CLP) Ravindra Choubey who reached Raipur from New Delhi on Thursday had asked the workers to quickly go to Bastar to start campaigning for the party.
Sources informed that the high command had also Hariprasada to ensure that the all the factions in the state Congress get united during hustings. The party leadership is concerned about the indifference of some of the factions after former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi’s supporter Kawasi Lakhma was announced as Congress candidate for Bastar by-poll. Hariprasada has also been reportedly asked to convince senior party leader Mahendra Karma to campaign for Lakhma. Notably, Karma quietly left for Jagdalpur recently after his candidature for Bastar by-poll was ignored by the AICC head.
