Submits 14-point demand to Railway Board Chairman Vivek Sahai

The Congress has demanded from Railway Board Chairman Vivek Sahai to provide new trains to Raipur considering increasing number passengers from the capital as well as adjoining cities. In this connection, the Congress workers led by DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal submitted their 14-point demand to Sahai during his visit to the capital on Friday.
The Congress demanded from Sahai to start at least four new trains from the capital to connect important cities in different states, i.e. - Raipur-Indore (Mahdya Pradesh), Raipur-Belpur (West Bengal), Raipur-Ajmer (Rajasthan) and Raipur-Gowahati (Assam).
Besides, they said the frequencies of Korba- Thiruvananthapuram, Raipur-Jodhpur-Jaipur and Raipur-Yashwantpur (Bangalore) should be increased and must be operated daily.
The other prominent demands of Congress were – macadamisation of road on the western side of the station near platform 6, provision of ramp from platform 1 to 6, provision of cold water for passengers on platform 6, provision of foot overbridge at Wagon Workshop station, etc.
