With an objective to increase medical
facilities for women and kids, the government will enhance capacity of its 35
hospitals by 2350 beds. For this, the government will establish maternal child
health centres (MCH centres) in 15 district hospitals and 20 community health
centres. Earlier, a work-plan in this regard had been sent by the state
government to the Centre which has given its consent. The MCH centres would be
established at the cost of Rs 387 crore, the fund which will be provided by the
Government of India through National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). According to
information, the facilities in the selected hospitals would be start in next
three years.
