Chief Minister has sought Centre’s intervention into release of Rajnandgaon engineer Preetam Kumar Sahu who had been taken hostage by pirates of Somalia. In this connection, he has written a letter to External Affairs Minster SM Krishna on Friday.
Attaching application of Preetam’s father Lokdas with his letter the CM informed Krishna that Preetam was taken hostage by the Somali pirates while he was going to Nigeria to Dubai on board Royal Grace A Panama Fag Vessel as an engineering cadet of Shipping Corporation of India.
Earlier, Lokdas informed the CM that besides Preetam, there were 17 more Indians in the vessel. The vessel was captured by the pirates on March 1, 2012 near Somalia.
