Congress will hold two-day workers’ training camp in Bastar division on June 30 and July 1. The decision was taken by the party leaders during a meeting convened by the PCC president Nandkumar Patel at Congress Bhawan on Monday.
According to the decision, the party will organise workers’ training camp in all the divisions.
Patel said that the party’s national-level office-bearers would impart training and guidance to the workers in Bastar training camp. Considering the upcoming challenges in the form of Assembly and general elections in 2013 and 2014 respectively, the party has decided to foster the organisational activities.
The party has also framed a work-plan to increase the activities of all its cells. In implement this work-plan Patel will convene a meeting of the heads of all the cells on June 18. This meeting will also be attended by party’s vice presidents and Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha incharges.
The party further decided to announce the executive bodies of remaining District Congress Committees (DCCs) by June 29. In this connection, Patel asked all the general secretaries to hold talks with the senior party leaders. He also authorised the general secretaries to announce executive bodies at block levels.
Patel said the BJP government should instantly fulfill the three promises it had made to the public – distribution of jersey cow to each tribal family, job to at least one member of every tribal family and Rs 270 paddy bonus to farmers.
Patel said Chief Minister Raman Singh continuously blames the Centre for price rise but poses mysterious silence over increasing cement prices. He said the CM could have given relief to the people of Chhattisgarh by removing value added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel but he never intended to do so.
On Monday, the party’s monitoring committee, discipline committee and building construction committee also held meetings.
The prominent leaders who attended these meetings were CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, Vidya Charan Shukla, Dhanendra Sahu, Satyanarayan Sharma, Dr Renu Jogi, Ramgopal Agrawal, Pushpa Devi Singh, Baijnath Chandrakar, Pradeep Choubey, Arun Vora, Ramesh Warlyani, Bhupesh Baghel, Devvrat Singh, Mahant Ramsundar Das, Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia, Premsai Singh, etc.
