Chhattisgarh State Government Doctors
Association (CSGDA) has put seven-point demand before Health department. In
this connection, the office-bearers of CSGDA led by their state president Dr Gokul
Chandra Sarkar met Health Commissioner Pratap Singh and held detailed
discussion on Thursday.
The prominent demands put by the association are
implementation of time-bound pay scale and promotions. Sarkar informed that
Singh assured of taking quick action on these demands.
During discussion, when the association indicated that
the promotion of block medical officers (BMOs) should also be included in their
demands, Singh said the government had not yet framed rules for BMOs.
Sarkar alleged that the department was adopting
negligent attitude towards the BMOs despite their posts being approved by the
government back in 2005.
The other demands of the association were – to
continue creating post of doctors, disburse contingent service allowance, to
extend retirement age of doctors to 65 years, to fill the post of Health
director by promoting departmental doctors and not to appoint candidates
holding degrees from unrecognised institutes.
The delegation of office-bearers of CSGDA was
comprised of general secretary Dr Vimal Rai, vice president Dr Milind
Sambharkar, Dr Ganesh Das, Dr Hemlal Meenpal, Dr Surendra Sahu and state
spokesperson Dr Kavindra.
