Jogi demands CBI inquiry into uterus removal cases

Raipur, June 22

Senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Friday demanded CBI inquiry into uterus removal cases terming it a grave crime. He also demanded that registration of criminal case against the guilty doctors.
“It is really surprising and unfortunate that uteruses of 604 women were removed in private nursing homes in Dhamtari district. This was done by under smart card scheme which is sheer misuse of the Centre’s ambitious scheme. Such practices are common in other parts of the state too which is highly condemnable,” said Jogi.
He said that the women in the state were not secure under the BJP regime. The doctors are engaged in such criminal acts to make fast bucks risking the life of the females,” he said.
He also expressed his concern that the wrong people were taking benefit of the smart card scheme instead of the common people.
