Cong will form govt in CG in 2013: Verma

Says Raman failed to give good governance in state

Raipur, June 11, 2012

Union Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma has said that Congress would form government in Chhattisgarh in 2013 beating the incumbent BJP government. However, he advised the partymen to fight the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections unitedly. Verma, who was on a day-long visit to state to participate in a programme of Bhilai Steel Plant, also visited Congress Bhawan on Monday and uttered these words while addressing the party workers.
He pointed that the leaders feel satisfied with their pictures flashing in print and electronic media and refrain from going to the rural pockets - the most significant part of the country which decides fate of any party in elections. He asked the partymen to constantly remain in contact with the villagers by making frequent visits in rural areas and get acquainted with the problems of the locals. He said the workers should also publicise the public welfare schemes launched by the Centre.
Hitting at ruling BJP government in state, he said Chief Minister Raman Singh had completely failed to give governance. “In fact, anarchy prevails in entire BJP as its leaders do not follow discipline. There are many leaders in BJP including Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and others while we have one leader and rest all follow discipline,” he said.
Training his guns towards team Anna he said it was unfortunate that the people who themselves were tainted were audacious enough to level baseless allegations against the Prime Minister.
He alleged that the members of team Anna had ulterior motives as all receive funds from foreign countries and each operates non governmental organisations (NGOs).
He admitted that the Congress was shocked with the results of Uttar Pradesh (UP) Assembly polls but said the reasons for loss were many. “However, in the forthcoming general elections, the Congress will win large number of seats in UP,” he said.
He claimed that the Congress-led UPA government would make a hat trick at Centre. He said the BJP should stop dreaming of coming into power in 2014 as the public will once again give its mandate to the UPA.
Earlier, Verma was welcomed by party’s state unit chief Nandkumar Patel, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, veteran party leader Vidya Charan Shukla, Ramesh Warlyani, Pushpa Devi Singh, Arvind Netam, Arun Vora, Dhanendra Sahu, Satyanarayan Sharma, Bhupesh Baghel, MLAs – Dr Renu Jogi and Kawasi Lakhma, Dr Premsai Singh, Chaitram Sahu, Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia, Gurmukh Singh Hora, etc.
