BJP cannot make a hat trick: Cong

Raipur, May 02, 2013

Congress on Thursday said people of Chhattisgarh were severely upset with BJP government’s bad governance and would never allow it to make a hat trick in upcoming assembly polls.

“During two IPL T20 matches in Raipur, chief minister Raman Singh had said while bowlers will make a hat trick in ground, the BJP will do it in Vidhan Sabha polls. However, there was no hat trick in both IPL matches and the people too will ensure that the BJP government too may not get third chance,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.

“The government tried to politicise cricket but people are aware of its deceptive tricks. Jhaliyamari rape incident, eye camp incident, Bhatgaon coal scam, Parsa coal block allocation scam, Bhadoura land scam, BALCO land scam, Bamleshwari Mines case, Pushp Steel case, four years of pending paddy bonus of farmers and merger of Shikshakarmis are some of the eye-opening incidents that are sufficient to throw this government from power this time,” he said.

Indicating that the BJP government had not done anything to boast about, he said therefore it used IPL events as its publicity medium in election year.

He said it was the then Congress government that had conceived of building international cricket stadium in Raipur; not the existing BJP government, however, it was trying to take false credit of the work.
