Hailing Congress victory in Karnataka assembly elections the party’s
state unit chief Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said it was
victory of their party’s policies and loss of BJP’s ideology.
They
said the Congress won Karnataka polls due to party vice president Rahul
Gandhi’s efforts. They hoped the party would post similar victory in every part
of the country under Gandhi’s leadership.
“The
Karnataka verdict is significant for the party because it won despite BJP’s
attempt to trigger communalism and create illusion in the region,” they said.
Pointing
towards Congress victories in Himachal
Pradesh, Assam
and Uttarakhand assembly polls, they said that the Congress had succeeded in
winning public trust everywhere.
“The
BJP lost polls in Karnataka due to scams and grafts done by its government. In
Chhattisgarh too, the BJP government’s anti-tribal and anti-farmer face has
been exposed. This government has also failed to check rising crime, especially
rape incidents. The people have decided to remove the BJP from power in the
upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls,” they said.
Former
leader of the opposition at state assembly Mahendra Karma, state unit vice
president TS Singhdeo, Kawasi Lakhma and other leaders said after Karnataka,
the party would continue its victory in Chhattisgarh too.
Indicating
that BJP won 11 out of 26 assembly seats where Gujarat
chief minister Narendra Modi campaigned, they said the people of Karnataka
completely rejected Modi.
Senior
Congress legislator Ajit Jogi attributed party’s Karnataka victory to marathon
campaigns of Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
The
Congress workers too are elated with the party performance in Karnataka polls.
They said the result had invigorated the party’s Chhattisgarh unit from top to
bottom. They hoped that the party would succeed in breaking the jinx of loss in
upcoming assembly polls by regaining power in state.
