Senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Wednesday said his party would
fulfill Shikshakarmis’ demands of merger and disbursal of sixth payscale if it
would come to power again.
He
said the BJP government had deceived Shikshakarmis by merely announcing hike in
their salary-band and not meeting their other major demands.
He
said the Centre was giving fund to state government for disbursing salaries and
providing other facilities to Shikshakarmis but the latter was spending fund on
other works.
Pointing
that over 30 Shikshakarmis died during their dharna in favour of their demands,
Jogi said the contract teachers had made their mindset to throw the government
from power in upcoming polls.
