Edasmeta encounter: Cong says BJPians insensitive

Raipur, May 22, 2013

Congress on Wednesday called the BJPians as insensitive in wake of ruling party spokesperson Ajay Chandrakar’s caustic remark on its demand of CBI probe to Governor. Chandrakar had alleged that the Congmen were politicising Edasmeta incident and showing more trust on their parrot – the CBI instead of judicial inquiry ordered by the state government.

The Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla said whenever the principal opposition demands CBI probe into any matter the BJPians start fretting.

“Let the BJPians remain stolid on the inhuman carnage like that happened in Edasmeta but the people are angry with the government and want justice for the innocent villagers who lost their family members in the encounter,” he added.

He said the government wanted the people to see and listen according to its wishes but that would never happen.

Pointing towards judicial probe ordered into Edasmeta encounter Shukla said the Congress did not have any objection over it, but was only worried that the justice would be delayed as judicial inquiry ordered in other cases were still proceeding at snail’s pace.

“The BJP should actually get rid of the habit of stalling the cases on pretext of judicial probe. If it has courage then it must rather issue fresh order of CBI inquiry into all the past encounters including Edasmeta encounter,” he said.

“In over nine and a half years of BJP regime the people have suffered a lot as is evident from rising fake encounter cases, grafts and exploitation. A person usually considers his house and village as most secure place, but ever since the BJP came into power, the tribals are being killed in their houses,” he said.

“The BJPians have become so insensitive and servile that they are not even hesitating in defending their government which is responsible for killing of innocent villagers in Edasmeta. Till date neither chief minister Raman Singh, nor home minister Nankiram Kanwar have visited the incidental place to take stock of the situation,” he said.
