On conclusion of first phase of government’s vikas yatra, Congress on
Friday said BJP’s factionalism surfaced in the yatra as no senior leaders
joined it.
“It
seems chief minister Raman Singh has planned to take out the yatra alone as he
is not getting support of senior BJP leaders like Raipur MP Ramesh Bais,
Bilaspur MP Dilip Singh Judeo, Durg MP Saroj Pandey, Rajya Sabha member
Nandkumar Sai and former MP Karuna Shukla,” said Congress spokesperson Mahendra
Chhabda.
“The
BJP has divided into several factions. The party leaders do not want to
participate in vikas yatra because they fear public protest as their government
is facing charges of grafts,” he added.
“The
Congress has frequently informed people that the government squandered state’s
rich mineral resources to ineligible companies like Sancheti and Adani groups.
The government favoured these companies because their owners are close the top
BJP leaders. The Congress is also seeking answer from the government on Ma
Bamleshwari Minerals and Pushp Steel cases. Unfortunately, instead replying to
our questions, the government is taking out vikas yatra to deceive people,” he
said.
“The
BJPians, on the other hand, have realised that their government would face the
same fate as their party in Karnataka. Therefore, they too are distancing
themselves off from the government’s vikas yatra,” he said.
