Congress will stage day-long dharna against government and burn its
effigy in its district and block headquarters on July 29. After dharna, the
partymen will submit memorandum to local authorities on the name of Governor
demanding dissolution of the government for failing to check grafts, maintain
law and order and giving good governance.
The party is also upset with the government for not
conducting debate on May 25 Darbha incident and adjourning the House before
scheduled time. The party says that the government should also have conducted
debate on bills and supplementary budget before passing it in the House. The
party spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said since the BJP government’s act
was against democratic rules, the Congress would stage dharna against it.
During dharna, the party will also demand CBI probe
into Indira Priyadarshini Bank scam. Pointing that the government was
responsible for blackmarketing of fertilisers and pesticides and farmers’ woes,
the party will demand free electricity and pending paddy bonus for farmers
during dharna.
