Cong stages statewide dharna against govt

Congress staged statewide dharna against government in its district and block headquarters on Monday. At Raipur, the party staged dharna at Khamtarai chowk. After dharna, the partymen burnt government’s effigy and submitted memorandum to local authorities on the name of Governor demanding dissolution of incumbent government for failing to check grafts, maintaining law and order and giving good governance.

During dharna the party raised matters like Darbha incident, adjournment of state assembly’s monsoon session before scheduled time, Indira Priyadarshini Bank scam, blackmarketing of fertilisers and pesticides, pending four-year paddy bonus of and government’s promise to farmers to provide free electricity to them for irrigation.

The dharna programme at Raipur was participated by DCC Raipur Urban head Inderchand Dhariwal, DCC Raipur Rural president Pankaj Sharma, PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda, Subhash Dhuppad, Dr Shivnarayan Dwivedi, Avtar Singh Saini, Santosh Agrawal, Shiv Singh Thakur, Pramod Dubey, Shreekumar Menon, Ghasiram Sahu, etc.
