Nayak to put Cong stand on ordinance on food security bill

Will reach Raipur  on July 18

Raipur, July 12, 2013

Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesperson Mukesh Nayak will be on day-long visit to Raipur on July 18. In the afternoon, he will talk to scribes pertaining to Centre’s food security bill and tell how the law on food security would benefit people.

Nayak is one of the 48 authorised party leaders who would go to different states and put Centre’s stand on bringing ordinance on food security bill. Nayak has been assigned the task to rationalise people of Chhattisgarh through the regional media.

The Congress is said to have taken this step due to BJP’s overt objection on its ordinance and allegations that the former’s ulterior motives are to secure votes by hastily making law on food security.

In Chhattisgarh, the ruling BJP and principal opposition Congress started blamegame as soon as the UPA government decided to bring ordinance on food security bill.

While Raman Singh government claims that its food security act is more transparent and advantageous for poor, the opposition Congress alleges that the ruling party is merely branding Centre’s scheme as its own and deceiving people.

Just recently, the BJP MP Saroj Pandey had flayed UPA government for not conducting debate on food security bill in parliament while the state Congress counter-charged and held the BJP responsible for disruption of parliamentary proceedings.

Nayak is said to be giving significant tips to the PCC office-bearers, spokespersons and senior leaders regarding Centre’s food security bill so that the state unit could publicise it as better than BJP government’s food security act.
