The YC on Tuesday asked home minister Nankiram Kanwar to tender resignation for his remark against senior Congress MLA Ajit Jogi pertaining to coal theft during latter’s tenure as Raipur Collector.
In protest of Kanwar’s statement, the YC activists took out his mock shav yatra from Congress Bhawan on Tuesday noon but were stopped by the police near Mahila Thana. Before being arrested by the police, the YC activists burnt the minister’s mock body.
Later, the YC’s former Raipur Lok Sabha president Vinod Tiwari said the HM had gone demented and hence using foul language against Jogi. “Kanwar is habituated of giving controversial and objectionable statements on sensitive matters,” Tiwari added.
“The YC has also changed the name of the minister from Nankiram to Sankiram for the latter’s eccentric remarks,” he said.
On the occasion, Tiwari was accompanied by Indrajeet Singh, Sushil Agrawal, Golu, Pradeep Sahu, Gulzeb Ahmed, Sunny Agrawal, Sheet Shrivas, Ram Chakradhari, Khilesh Dewangan, Shashikant, K Suraj, Sayyed Umeir, etc.
