Cong to chalk out roadmap for VS polls today

Raipur, July 17, 2013
Congress will chalk out roadmap for assembly elections during PCC executive meeting that will be convened after a long time at Congress Bhawan on Thursday. The meeting will be attended all the party heavyweights.

The meeting is significant due to its timing as the party plans to concentrate in intensifying its pre-poll activities across the state at all levels after July 2013.

The main agenda of the meeting would be to discuss on poll preparations, candidate selection and encashment of sympathy factor post Darbha incident.

Acting PCC chief Charandas Mahant, who has discussed on these matters with state party incharge BK Hariprasada during his recent Delhi visit, would also convey the message of high command regarding poll preparation.

By far, the party has done exactly what the high command has directed it to do after May 25-incident. In this line, the party succeeded in upsetting the government during state assembly’s brief (five-day) monsoon session that was adjourned sine die on third day on Wednesday due to its persistent non-cooperation, blunt refusal to debate on Darbha incident and demand from the government to step down.

While the party is already terming prescheduled adjournment of House as its preliminary victory, it aims to adopt more aggression against incumbent government in forthcoming days.

The Thursday meeting will be the right forum for the party to discuss about the level of aggression it would decide to show at block, district and state levels.

Mahant will also talk to DCC and BCC heads of Bijapur, Rajnandgaon urban and Rajnandgaon rural in the sidelines of PCC executive meeting.
The meeting will be attended by CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, state unit’s programme coordinator Bhupesh Baghel, PCC treasurer, vice presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, members, permanently invited members, specially invited members and spokespersons.
