RMC mayor Kiranmayi Nayak on Tuesday flayed IG GP Singh for terming CD of Indira Priyadarshini Bank manager Umesh Sinha’s narco test as “insufficient evidence”. “How come Singh give verdict on the matter which is sub-judice? He is a government official. He neither holds right to take decision nor give verdict on this matter,” she said while interacting with scribes at Congress Bhawan.
“Singh was supposed to submit the CD with court. Then, on the basis of content of the CD, the court would have decided whether to consider it as an evidence or not,” she said.
She said narco test is always considered as co-evidence in judiciary. “When in case of Afzal Guru the court had accepted CD of his narco test as co-evidence then how come Singh is denying authenticity of this test,” she asked.
Lashing Singh for talking to media on Sinha’s narco test CD, Nayak said it was surprising that despite being government servant the former came to defence of ministers.
