Cong charges of illegal recovery during laptop distribution

Raipur, April 17, 2013

Congress on Wednesday alleged that the government was doing illegal recovery on pretext of laptop and tablet distribution programmes.

“The government is charging certain amount against every student from their respective engineering colleges to organise laptop distribution programmes,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.

He informed the government recovered Rs 250 per student from private engineering colleges of Raipur.

“The fund was deposited in the IDBI bank account number 004914000415651 on the name of Sameer Sharma, Dr ML Agrawal and Dr JH Vyas,” he said.

“Similarly, Rs 1000 per student was recovered from engineering colleges at Durg and Bhilai to organise laptop distribution programmes,” he added.

“Evidently, the fund charged from the colleges varies with locations. The government should tell on whose directive this illegal recovery is being done and who will control the expenditure of this fund.

He further said the government had put indirect financial burden on the students as they would have to pay the college administrations the fund that was submitted on their names.

He asked the government to check the fund generation trend through illegal method and advised to organise simple events for students if it lacked sufficient fund.
