Congress on Wednesday alleged that home minister Nankiram Kanwar was
openly protecting criminals as was evident from his hometown rally in Korba
district where he was seen accompanied by two notorious criminals.
“At
his rally, Kanwar was accompanied by the two criminals – Anis Memon and Razzak
Ali on his stagecoach. Memon and Ali are facing several grave criminal charges.
Certainly, the HM’s activities are boosting morale of criminals,” said Congress
spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.
Expressing his surprise that chief
minister Raman Singh did not take any action against the HM despite knowing
that the latter was protecting criminals, Shukla said the former should
immediately tender his resignation on moral grounds.
He further demanded sacking of SP
Korba along with other police officials of the district for allowing Memon and
Ali to participate in Kanwar’s rally.
