Second phase starts from April 22

Congress has claimed that first phase of its parivartan
yatra, which concluded on April 18, received massive response. The party’s
chief spokesperson informed that the parivartan express bus covered 1250 km in
seven days. “During this period, the party organised 16 public rallies in
different assembly areas and over 1.50 lakh people participated in these
rallies,” he said.
The first phase of yatra was taken out in
four districts – Sarguja – 8 rallies, Koria – 3 rallies, Jashpur – 3 rallies
and Raigarh – 2 rallies.
In rallies, the party raised almost all
the major issues including grafts, scams, allocation of mines, paddy bonus,
demands of Shikshakarmis, lathicharge on tribals in Raipur and Suhela, Meena
Khalkhon episode, Jhaliyamari rape incident, reservation for tribals, etc.
The second phase of the yatra will be
taken out from April 22-27 and will cover Kathghora, Marwahi, Kota, Lormi, Pali Tanakhar, Korba, Raigarh
and Sakti Vidhan Sabha areas.
The party will organise 17 public rallies
in six days. The rallies will be organised in - Raigarh, Kharsia, Dabra
(Chandrapur) - April 22, Jaijaipur, Sakti, Janjgir - April 23, Bodri,
Takhatpur, Mungeli – April 24, Lormi, Pendra (Kota) and Marwahi – April 25, Podhi
(Pali Tanakhar), Kathghora, Korba – April 26 and Rampur and Akaltara – April
27.
Trivedi informed that preparations were on
for second phase of the yatra. “The yatra coordinator TS Singhdeo is in contact
with party general secretaries and MLAs to make the yatra’s second phase
successful,” he said.
Rita Joshi to address rallies on April 22,

Former Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee
president Rita Bahuguna Joshi will participate on first day of yatra’s second
phase. She will address public rallies at Raigarh and Kharsia.
Similarly, AICC
general secretary Digvijay Singh will participate third phase of yatra on May
7. However, he will arrive in state capital on May 6 as he is scheduled to
attend unveiling ceremony of former CM of Madhya Pradesh Pt Shyama Charan
Shukla’s statue at Rajim on the same day.
