Cong’s 48 hr mahadharna concludes

Raipur, March 25, 2013

Demanding resignation of health minister Amar Agrawal’s on Bhadoura land scam in Bilaspur district, chief minister Raman Singh’s resignation in wake of CAG’s revelation and three-day special session in Vidhan Sabha to debate on CAG report, Congress concluded its 48 hour strike – the mahadharna, in all 27 districts on Monday.

At Raipur, the party members led by their state unit head Nandkumar Patel submitted a memorandum to Governor Shekhar Dutt in favour of their demands at 12 pm.

Earlier, while addressing Congmen before conclusion of mahadharna, Patel said it was high time to throw the ruling BJP from power. “Corruption is at its saturation-level under BJP’s regime. The Bhadoura land scam is just a tip of the iceberg as grafts prevail in entire state,” he added.

The Congress will now raise Bhadoura land scam and CAG revelation along with other burning issues through its statewide campaign - ‘har ghar Congress, ghar-ghar Congress’ (door-to-door), which will commence from April 1, 2013.
