Senior Congress MLA Ajit Jogi on Thursday advocated for constitution of
a probe team to protect Wakf assets.
Hailing
formation of three-member probe team by religious trust minister Brijmohan
Agrawal to prevent illegal sale-purchase and encroachment of donated lands for
temples and religious places, Jogi said the government should take similar step
to protect Wakf properties.
He
said several cases of encroachment and manipulation of Wakf assets had surfaced
in last nine and a half years because the government did not take any step to
maintain and protect them.
