Cong for simplification of ration card making process

Raipur, April 19, 2013

Congress has asked the government to simply ration card making process. The party said the people were facing several problems from filling applications forms to submitting them.

“The government has deliberately complicated ration card making process so that maximum application forms get cancelled and only few could avail its facility,” alleged state Congress chief Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey on Friday.

“The ministers and officials have ample time to take stock of IPL preparations, but not to see mismanagement in ration card making process. The BJP government is least bothered about public problems,” the duo said.

They charged that terror prevailed under BJP regime as was obvious from recent murder attempt on journalist when he exposed grafts in ration card making process.

They further alleged that the government was making ration cards to provide fake ones to BJPians and their kin and to benefit brokers and middlemen.

The duo demanded amendment in intricate terms and conditions of obtaining ration card.

Pointing that government’s decision to not issue ration cards to people having 1000 sq ft pucca houses would affect large population in urban and rural areas the duo said such restrictions should be instantly lifted. Besides, owner’s declaration regarding area of the house should be accepted instead of asking him to provide property tax receipt and patwari record, they said.

They demanded for provision of ration cards to all farmers by lifting restriction of 10 acre irrigated and 20 acre non-irrigated lands.

They said ration cards too should be issued to all non-gazetted government employees. They further demanded two-month extension in ration card making process for public convenience.
